UD All-Time Top-10 Lists: 200 Breaststroke (9th, 2:06.33), 200 Individual Medley (9th, 1:55.96). 2011-2012 Season: placed 14th overall in breaststroke at the CAA Championships posting the second best time of the season for Delaware in that event · moved into 9th place in the Delaware records books with times of 2:06.33 and 1:55.96 in the 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley respectively · earned two 2nd place finishes in the 100 breaststroke in meets against George Mason and Widener. 2010-11 Season: Posted three second place finishes against Widener, including an 200-yard IM event that was swam as an exhibition • had a season's best time of 59.02 in the 100-yard breaststroke against Widener • exhibition swim in the 200 IM against Widener was a season's best time of 1:58.89 • also finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:10.19 against Widener • posted a season's best 2:09.62 in the 200 breast against UMBC and W&M for a third place finish • swam a season's best 4:26.29 in the 400 IM at the Frank Elm Invitational at Rutgers.
High School: Four-year letter winner and three year captain at North Kingston High School • first team All-State and Rhode Island State champion in 100 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley in 2010 • second team All-State in 100 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley in 2009 • second team All-State in 200 individual medley in 2008 • Rhode Island Cox Sports Awards Swimmer of the Year 2010 • Academic and Scholastic All-American in 2009-10 • National Honor Society member.
Personal: Benjamin "Ben" Elliot Evangelista ("e-van-juh-leesta") • son of Peter and Jayne Evangelista • has a twin sister, Ally, who is also a student at Delaware, and a younger sister Emily • enjoys surfing, music and lifeguarding • was a life guard on the Long Beach Township Beach Patrol on Long Beach Island, N.J. • communications major at Delaware with a minor in Spanish.
