Named co-captain for 2010-11 • UD All-Time Top-10 Lists: 200-freestyle (6th, 1:40.92) 2010-11 Season: One of the team's top sprint freestyle swimmers, working his way into the top-10 in the 200-yard freestyle event • finished with the third fastest time on the team in the 200 free after coming in fourth at the Terrapin Invitational with a time of 1:40.92, the fastest on the team at the time • also set career marks in the 50 and 100 free at the Terrapin Invitational, posting a second place finish in the 100 in 46.08 and fourth in the 50 in 21.38 • helped the 800-yard freestyle relay team to the season's second fastest time, being the second leg of third place team in 6:57.60 at the Frank Elm Invitational at Rutgers • won the 200 free at Towson in 1:44.36 and again against Drexel in 1:44.06. 2009-10 Season: Did not participate in any events for the Blue Hens. Retained year of eligibility.
High School: Three-year letterwinner in swimming at Central Bucks South High School • earned all-league honors as a junior and senior • also was an all-district selection and served as the team captain as a senior • earned his school’s Male Athlete of the Year award as a senior • also competed in football and baseball • was an all-league performer as an outfielder.
Personal: Kyle Scott McLaughlin • son of Scott and Debbie McLaughlin • has three younger siblings • his mother was a four-year member of the Shippensburg (Pa.) University swim team • member of the National Honor Society • civil engineering major with a minor in economics at Delaware • interned at Turner Construction Company over the summer • enjoys snowboarding.
