High School: Enjoyed one of the finest careers of any tennis player in Delaware history • played four years of tennis at Wilmington Friends School • played No. 1 singles all four years • three-time individual state champion • team won state title twice • graduated with an individual record of 69-1 • team went undefeated (13-0) in 2007 • also played one year of basketball.
Personal: Troy Michael Beneck ("ben-ick") • son of Steve and Diane Beneck • both parents are University of Delaware alumni • father played football from 1976-77 at Delaware • once hit a shot between his legs • leaves his shoes untied as a pre-game superstition • has two younger brothers • honor student as a University studies major at Delaware.
