At Delaware: 25-31 career singles record • 18-19 career doubles mark • CAA Commissioner’s Academic honoree • three-time letterwinner.

2012-13 Season: Collected a record of 6-17 in singles play while picking up a mark of 9-14 in doubles action • registered a 1-1 record in No. 2 singles • Navy Invitational Flight 2 Doubles Champion • teamed up with fellow junior Nolan Gelman to post a 4-3 doubles record • duo went 2-1 in No. 1 doubles play.

 

2011-12 Season: Finished season with a 12-11 singles record while going 5-2 in doubles play • posted a 3-1 doubles mark with classmate Nolan Gelman • Hampton Roads Collegiate Tennis Invitational Level 8-9 Doubles Champion with Ian LeBlanc • CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.

2010-11 Season: Went 7-3 in singles action while going 4-3 in doubles play • went 2-0 in No. 6 singles • won the Swarthmore Invitational Flight D Singles title • went 3-1 in No. 4 doubles with Nick Piacente.  

High School: Played four years at Milton High School • played No. 1 and No. 2 singles • team’s record improved each season from 5-16 in 2006-07 to 18-4 in 2009-10 • earned four letters • named team’s Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, and Best All-Around Player • also earned Coach’s Award • underwent shoulder surgery as a junior • named to Principal’s Honor Roll while earning Language Arts and Social Studies Awards.  

Personal: Jason David Derene ("duh-reen") • born Feb. 18, 1992 • son of Craig and Susan Derene • once hit a volley behind his back during a match • has been playing tennis since he was eight years old • has one younger sister • honor student as a sport management major at Delaware.
