At Delaware:  Second-year member of team • Alexander J. Taylor UD Alumni Association Team MVP (2011-12) • 3rd Team All-CAA doubles selection (2011-12).

2011-12 Season:  Made an immediate impact in his first season for the Blue Hens with a team-best 17-9 (.654) singles record • posted a 16-7 record in the No. 2 singles slot • recorded team-high seven-game winning streak • paired with Troy Beneck for a 17-8 overall doubles record, including a 13-6 mark in the first flight • duo competed at the ITA Regionals Doubles Round 32 • pair also recorded a team-high four-game winning streak • Alexander J. Taylor UD Alumni Association Team Most Valuable Player • 3rd Team All-CAA Doubles selection • Saint Joseph’s University Invitational Single Flight 2 Finalist.

2010-11 Season (At Virginia Tech): Gained experience at the collegiate level while competing for the Hokies • went 3-1 overall in tournament doubles matches, including a 3-0 mark with Jonathan Pine • pair won the Red Doubles Flight at the University of Virginia Classic • did not see any action in dual matches • went 1-5 in singles during tournament play.

High School: Competed for Club SEK from 2004-10 • helped to a Champions of Madrid title in 2010 as part of the Under 18 team • No. 231 in the Men’s National Spanish rankings • qualified for the Main Draw at the ITA Future Event in Melilla, Spain • diploma for outstanding academic achievement in 2009 • Student of the Year in his residence hall from 2006-09.

Personal: Adam Matthew Lawton • born March 4, 1992 • son of Roy and Patricia Lawton • twin sister Maria plays tennis at the University of Alabama • born in England, lived in South Africa, Indonesia, Cuba, Russia, Spain and the United States • enjoys swimming, reading, travelling and playing golf or soccer • chose Delaware for the opportunity to compete at a high level and for its excellent chemical engineering program • began playing tennis at the age nine when he was living in Cuba • lists Rafael Nadal as his biggest influence for what he has achieved at such a young age • environmental engineering biotechnology major at the University.
