2011 Season: Competed in all seven events as a member of the Varsity Eights • placed second at the ECAC championships • finished sixth at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships • placed fifth at Dad Vail in the semifinals.
2010 Season: Competed in five events for the Varsity Eights during the season • earned second letter as a member of the Varsity Eights crew • team finished fifth at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships, sixth at the ECAC Championships, third at Saint Joseph's/Drexel tri-meet, 14th at the Knecht Cup, and fifth at the Dad Vail Regatta • Colonial Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll.
2009 Season: Earned first letter at Delaware • competed in five events during the season as a key member of the Novice Eights crew • led crew to second place finish vs. Saint Joseph's, second place heat finish at the Murphy Cup, third place at the Kerr Cup, a fifth place finish in the petite finals at the Knecht Cup, and a sixth place finish in the semifinals at Dad Vail.
High School: Four-year member of cross country and track teams at Oley Valley High School • earned varsity letters and served as team captain during senior year for both teams • played one year of basketball • National Honor Society President • Class President • Student Council Historian • member of the music honor society • honor roll student • was a member of the high school marching, concert, and jazz band.
Personal: Lauren Rachael Kanaskie ("kuh-naski") • born Sept. 21, 1989 • daughter of Jeff and Carol Kanaskie • has a brother • exercise physiology major at Delaware with minors in biology and psychology • team's Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) representative • served as coordinator of the 2011 Pigskin Pass, a relay run between student-athletes from Delaware and Towson that raises money for Special Olympics • works as a playground leader during the summer • two uncles attended Delaware in the 1970's.
