University of Delaware Rowers Complete Weekend Duals at Bucknell With Six Second Place Finishes

SHAMOKIN DAM, Pa. -- The University of Delaware women’s rowing squad posted six second place finishes during weekend dual meets against Colgate and host Bucknell Friday and Saturday on the Susquehanna River.
The Hens competed against Bucknell on Friday and posted two second place showings and two thirds and then followed with a dual against Colgate on Saturday in which Delaware recorded four more second place showings. Both duals were scheduled to be held on Saturday but the Bucknell competition was moved up a day to Friday due to weather concerns.
“Our team handled the conditions well and represented the University of Delaware at a high calibre,” said Delaware head coach Laura Slice. “We are excited and ready for next weekend’s Colonial Athletic Association championships.”
Next week’s CAA meet will be held on Saturday, April, at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
On Friday, Delaware placed second in the Varsity Eights and Varsity Fours and posted third place showings in the Second Varsity Eights, Varsity Fours, and Third Varsity Eights against Bucknell.
On Saturday, the Hens registered second place showings in the Varsity Eights, Second Varsity Eights, Varsity Fours, and Novice Eights against teams from both Colgate and Bucknell.
