KINGSTON, R.I. -- The University of Delaware women’s rowing team took part in a one-day scrimmage against the University of Rhode Island Saturday afternoon with the Blue Hens competing in five events.
The day entailed multiple race style pieces with competition in the 4 x 500 meter and in the 2000 meters. The event was structured to allow both teams to change lineups, rate, and test out new race strategy. All pieces were with floating starts and there were no official times recorded.
"This trip was an excellent learning experience for UD Rowing,” said Delaware head coach Laura Slice. “We are going to see the payoff from this trip through the entire spring. The trip to URI confirmed that, as a team, Delaware will see great success this season."
