2010: Appeared in 25 games and made eight starts for the Blue Hens • started four times at second base, three times in right field, and once as the designated player • had 17 plate appearances on the season, posting four walks • scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning during the season-opening 8-7 victory over UNC Greensboro (2/19) and the 1-0 win over Georgetown (3/19) • also crossed the plate against Villanova (4/5), Georgia State (4/10), and Norfolk State (4/14).
2009: Appeared in 15 games while starting five, all in right field, for Delaware • scored a run as a pinch runner in her Blue Hen debut against Lehigh (3/18) • walked and scored a run in the 4-2 win over Binghamton (4/9) • also had a walk at La Salle (4/2).
High School: Four-year member of Chesapeake cheerleading, basketball and softball teams • All-County selection in softball • member of softball teams that won the 2007 and 2008 state championship • Chesapeake also claimed the county and region championships during her final three seasons • earned 11 letters in high school.
Personal: Samantha Michaeline Pettie • daughter of Steve and Maryann Pettie • has a younger brother, Steven • nursing major at Delaware with a minor in disability studies.
