At Delaware: Serving as team captain for the third consecutive season • third-year player expected to again start for the Blue Hens in center field • has started all 112 games during her first two seasons at Delaware • career .264 hitter with 76 hits, 28 runs scored, 14 doubles, and 40 RBI.
2012 Season: Started all 57 games in center field for the Blue Hens • batted .231 while leading the team with 21 RBI • also ranked second with eight doubles, fourth with 34 hits, and fifth with 13 runs scored • led Delaware with seven multi-RBI games and tied for third with eight multi-hit games • went 2 for 3 with two RBI versus Boston College (2/17) • hit a two-run homer during the 6-4 win over Florida Gulf Coast (2/18) • recorded two hits in consecutive games against Army and Monmouth twice • went 2 for 3 with a double and a triple against George Mason (3/31) • had two hits and two RBI versus Saint Peter’s (4/4) • hit a two-run homer at UNCW (4/29).
2011 Season: Named UD Alumni Association Team Most Valuable Player • started all 55 games in center field and was the team’s third hitter in the lineup • led the squad with 27 walks and was ranked second with a .298 batting average • also ranked third with 42 hits, tied for third with 19 RBI, and tied for fourth with six doubles • batted .320 in conference games • tied for fourth on the squad with eight multi-hit games on the year • went 2 for 2 with a run scored against Hampton (3/1) • finished 2 for 3 versus Western Carolina (3/4) • was 3 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI during a win over UMES (3/13) • went 2 for 5 with a double and two runs scored against Temple (3/15) • drove home the only two runs of the game during the Blue Hens’ 2-0 win at George Mason (3/26) • had two hits against Delaware State (3/30) and Hofstra (4/2) • finished 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored during a win over Penn (4/27) • went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI at Drexel (5/1) • drilled a home run against Marist (3/12) and Georgia State (4/17) • named to CAA All-Tournament Team.
At Itawamba (Miss.) Community College: Named first team MCAJC as a third baseman during the 2010 season • led the Indians to the MCAJC North Division Championship • earned Itawamba Community College Dean's List Honors.
High School: Three-year starter as an outfielder and catcher from 2005-07 at Sacred Heart College High School • led Sacred Heart to three regional championships and the team was the 2007 national runners up • led field hockey team to the 2007 regional championship • also played one year of basketball and touch-rugby • played softball, touch-rugby and basketball at Naenae College High School in New Zealand from 2003-04 • led all three teams to the regional championship • named Softballer of the Year in 2005-07 while at Sacred Heart • selected Sacred Heart College Sports Person of the Year and Wellington's Softballer of the Year in 2005 and 2007 • named New Zealand Under 17 Top Batter and MVP in 2005 • tabbed New Zealand Under 19 Top Batter in 2006 and 2008 • earned Kapaltaka Leadership award • College House Leader • earned honors in Maori Language in 2007.
Personal: Lara Ann Andrews ("lah-rah") • daughter of John Andrews and Vicky Perez • has three brothers and three sisters • honor student as a human services major with a concentration in administration and family policy at Delaware • has worked as a Blue Hen Ambassador over the last two summers • played for New Zealand at the 2012 Women’s Softball World Series in Yukon, Canada • has been to nine countries • enjoys painting and singing.
