Delaware Softball Head Coach Jaime Wohlbach Announces Addition of Hannah Rust To Blue Hen Roster
January 21, 2011
NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware softball head coach Jaime Wohlbach has
announced that sophomore Hannah Rust has joined the Blue Hen squad and will
compete for Delaware this spring.
Hannah played softball for Delaware Technical and Community College in the
Spring of 2010, compiling a 12-4 record in the circle for Delaware Tech. She
has transferred from the University of Delaware at Georgetown campus to
complete her academic and athletic career at the Newark campus.
Prior to starting her career at the Georgetown campus, Rust was a four-year all-conference selection at Greenwood Mennonite School in Greenwood, Del.,
leading the squad to two conference championship games. Rust, who served as
team captain of the softball team during her senior year, also played four years of volleyball and basketball at Greenwood Mennonite. She was an all-conference selection as a senior in volleyball, while serving as a team captain for that sport as well.
"Hannah is a strong addition to our program," said Wohlbach, whose squad opens its season on February 18-20 at the University of Central Florida Tournament. "She is a well balanced student-athlete who has proven herself in the classroom and on the field. Her pitching complements our current staff and we are looking forward to getting her in the circle."
Rust, who played with the Delaware Magic travel softball team from ages 11-18,
will major in applied nutrition and exercise physiology at Delaware.
