University of Delaware Softball Assistant Coach Tenaya Tucker Playing Professional Softball in Italy

CASERTA, Italy -- University of Delaware softball assistant coach Tenaya Tucker, who recently completed her first season with the Blue Hens, is currently playing professional softball in the Italian Serie A1 league.
Tucker starts at third base and catcher for DES Caserta, which is located near Naples and the island of Capri. Caserta, which won the championship last season, was the league’s regular season champion this season with a 30-4 record. Caserta opens the semifinals on August 4, with the championship series set to begin on Septe mber 1.
Caserta also won the Coppa Italia Championship and qualified for the European Cup. Tucker, who ripped a double during her first Italian professional at bat, will close her summer by competing in the European Cup in Enschede, Amsterdam before returning to the Blue Hens.
