NEWARK, Del. -- Bonnie Kenny (at right), head coach of the defending champion University of Delaware women’s volleyball squad, will host the 2012 UD Volleyball Coaches Clinic this Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Bob Carpenter Center.
Kenny, Associate Head Coach Cindy Gregory, and Assistant Coach Doug English will conduct the annual clinic, which is open to volleyball coaches from all levels of the sport.
The all-day event will begin with registration at 9 a.m. followed by a classroom film session, “shop talk”, a tour of the new Bob Carpenter Center addition, small group work, specific training with current UD volleyball players, and individual and team drills performed by the UD players in the final afternoon session. Lunch will be provided.
The cost of the clinic is $30 per person. Registration is available in-person the day of the event or online now at www.bluehens.com/teams/volleyball.
Kenny has led the Blue Hen volleyball squad to unprecedented success during her 11 seasons at the helm. Delaware has won a share of each of the last five Colonial Athletic Association titles, including CAA Tournament victories in 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011. The Blue Hens advanced to the NCAA Tournament each of those four championship seasons and posted first round victories over Princeton in 2007 and American in 2011.
Delaware, which will play its first season in the Bob Carpenter Center this fall, will open the 2012 season Aug. 24-25 at the San Diego State Tournament and will open the home slate Sept. 7-8 with the annual Delaware Invitational against Texas A&M, Xavier, and Columbia.
