University of Delaware Women’s Basketball Announces 2012-13 Colonial Athletic Association Schedule

NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware announced it 2012-13 women’s basketball Colonial Athletic Association schedule on Friday, as the Blue Hens open at home against George Mason on Jan. 10 and close with a home game against Georgia State on Mar. 6.
The Blue Hens open their season with 13 non-conference games, before playing 18 consecutive league contests beginning with the home game against the Patriots. Delaware will be looking to reprise last season’s success, when the Blue Hens went a perfect 18-0 in the league’s regular season before posting three victories in the CAA Tournament to win the conference title.
After the Mason game UD travels to Old Dominion on Sunday, Jan. 13, and remains on the road two days later to face Northeastern on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The Blue Hens then return home for a pair of contests, hosting Towson on Sunday, Jan. 20 and UNCW on Thursday, Jan. 24. Following a road game at rival Drexel on Sunday, Jan. 27, Delaware is right back in the BCC on Tuesday, Jan. 29 when the Blue Hens welcome Northeastern to Newark.
Two days later Delaware heads south to face Georgia State on Thursday, Jan. 31 in Atlanta, before returning home to host Hofstra on Sunday, Feb. 3. The Blue Hens then play two straight road games, heading to Towson on Thursday, Feb. 7 and to James Madison on Sunday, Feb. 10.
Following a home game against Old Dominion on Thursday, Feb. 14, Delaware heads right back to the road, playing at William & Mary on Sunday, Feb. 17 and at George Mason on Tuesday, Feb.19. The Blue Hens then host James Madison on Sunday, Feb. 24, before their final road game of the year at Hofstra on Thursday, Feb. 28.
Delaware returns home to host Drexel on Sunday, Mar. 3, before wrapping up its regular season by hosting Georgia State on Wednesday, Mar. 6.
The CAA Tournament returns to The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md. and will take place on Mar. 14-17.
Game dates and times are subject to change based on television schedules. The final schedule along with television broadcast information is expected to be announced at CAA Basketball Media Day on October 16.
