Delle Donne One of 20 Selected on USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Midseason Watch List

ST. LOUIS -- The accolades keep rolling in for University of Delaware senior Elena Delle Donne (at right) as she was named Tuesday as one of 20 outstanding women’s basketball players for the U.S. Basketball Writers Association 2013 Ann Meyers Drysdale Midseason Watch List.
The award is to be presented to the women’s national player of the year by its namesake at the USBWA women’s awards press conference April 7 prior to the start of the NCAA Women’s Final Four semifinals.
Voting for both the women’s All-America team and Ann Meyers Drysdale Award are done directly by the membership with the All-America team to be announced in late March.
For the season, Delle Donne averages 25.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.4 blocks, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game. She ranks second in the nation in points per game and is seventh in the NCAA with a 91.4 free throw percentage. Delle Donne holds a career total of 2,786 points, which is good for 19th all-time in NCAA women’s basketball history.
The three-time All-American holds 10 different Delaware women’s basketball records in addition to taking rein over five statistical areas in Colonial Athletic Association history.
