Cross Country - Second-year member of the Blue Hens who has earned one letter. 2010 Season: Competed in four events for Delaware • finished 118th in 24:11.9 at the season-opening Penn State Invitational and was 22nd in 20:23.1 at the Delaware Invitational • placed 73rd in 24:10 at the CAA Championships and was ninth in 20:22.0 in the open race of the ECAC Championships.
Indoor Track & Field - Second-year member of the Blue Hens. 2010-11 Season: Did not compete in any meets for the team.
Outdoor Track & Field - Second-year member of the Blue Hens. 2011 Season: Ran the 800 meters in 2:46.86 and the 1,500 meters in 5:20.18 at the Towson Invitational • finished the 3,000 meters in 11:18.44 at the Golden Ram Invitational and the 5,000 meters in 20:12.15 at the VCU Invitational.
High School: Competed in cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field at Ballston Spa High School • earned eight varsity letters • school's Most Valuable Player in cross country in 2008 and outdoor track & field in 2009, and team's most improved athlete in outdoor track & field in 2010 • holds school record in outdoor 4 x 800 meter relay • member of National Honor Society member and Tri-M Music Honor Society • earned Girl Scout Gold Award.
Personal: Alexandra Denae "Alex" Finocchio ("fuh-no-keo") • born March 6, 1992 • daughter of Cynthia Redshaw and Joseph Finocchio • has two older sisters • international relations and history major at Delaware with a minor in Islamic studies • aspires to become a foreign peace-keeping officer or diplomat • worked as a camp counselor over the summer • enjoys dance, theatre, musical ensemble and bungee jumping.
