High School: Member of the cross country, indoor track, outdoor track and basketball teams at the Charter School of Wilmington • earned first team All-State in 2009 and second team All-State in 2010 in cross country • helped cross country team win the 2009 and 2010 state championships, and the track & field team to the 2009 state title • served as team captain of the cross country and track & field teams • member of National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society • honor roll student.
Personal: Meredith Rose Steenkamer ("steen-ka-mur") • daughter of Paul and Sharon Steenkamer • has a younger brother, Will • cousin, Katrina Steenkamer, is also on the UD cross country team • both parents are Delaware graduates • five uncles also attended Delaware including Mike Steenkamer, who competed for the Blue Hen men’s cross country team • chemical engineering major at Delaware.
