At Delaware: Cross Country - Second-year member of the Blue Hens. 2011 Season: Competed in five meets for Delaware • finished 44th in 20:45 at the UMES Lid-Lifter Invitational and 113th in 21:05 at the Fordham Invitational • placed 58th at the Delaware Invitational in 26:07 and 184th in 25:45 in the open race of the Paul Short Invitational • came in 26th in 26:04 at the Blue & Gold Invitational.
Indoor Track & Field - Second-year member of the Blue Hens. 2011-12 Season: Ran the 3,000 meters in 11:43.78 at the Delaware Invitational.
Outdoor Track & Field - Second-year member of the Blue Hens who has earned one letter. 2012 Season: Won the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Morgan State Legacy Meet • posted a season-best time of 12:00.51 in the steeplechase at the Towson Invitational • ran the 5,000 meters in 19:04.77 at the VCU Invitational.
High School: Member of cross country, indoor track and outdoor track teams at Branford High School • also was a member of the swimming team for one year • four-year varsity athlete with the track teams and three years with the cross country team • earned All-Oronoque honors in all three sports • named MVP of cross country team in 2008 and 2010, and MVP of the indoor track team in 2011 • member of National Honor Society • earned high honors • sophomore class secretary and student council secretary • Model Congress President.
Personal: Margaret “Meg” Erin O’Brien • daughter of John and Patricia O’Brien • chemical engineering major at Delaware • has been involved with mission work, including rebuilding in New Orleans and Kentucky • organized a road race for breast cancer awareness • worked as a lifeguard over the summer.
