RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware freshman Andrea Slane was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
Slane, a native of Temecula, Calif. (Great Oak HS), led the Blue Hens to a fifth place finish over the weekend at the Rutgers Invitational. She carded a four over par 76 during Friday’s opening round on the par 72, 6,034-yard Rutgers University Golf Course and followed with a 79 on Saturday to finish in ninth place in the individual standings with an 11 over par 76-79-155.
Slane’s ninth place finish was her best of the fall season, while her opening round of 76 was her second lowest of the campaign. She currently ranks second on the Blue Hens with a 79.57 average round through the first three tournaments of the year.
Slane and the Blue Hens return to action on October 23-25 when they compete in the Florida International-Pat Bradley Invitational at Pelican Preserve Golf Course in Fort Myers, Fla.
