Delaware Women’s Golfers in 10th Place Following First Round of FIU Pat Bradley Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- The University of Delaware women’s golf team posted a 317 team score on Sunday and sits in 10th place out of 15 teams following the first round of the 34th Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational.
Boston College leads the field after recording a 300 team score, while North Texas is second at 301. Eastern Michigan is third at 302, host Florida International sits in fourth place at 303, and Stetson rounds out the top five at 305.
Blue Hen junior Frida Nilsson (at right) led Delaware on Sunday by carding a six over par 78 on the par 72, 6,239-yard Egret to Ibis Course at Pelican Preserve & Country Club and is tied for 27th place in the individual standings. Freshmen Andrea Slane and Sarah Skurla are each tied for 38th place after both players shot seven over par 79, while classmate Baralee Theinthong fired a nine over par 81 and is tied for 51st place. Freshman Annie Bowlsby carded a 13 over par 85 and is tied for 66th place following Sunday’s action.
Meredith Fairbairn of Eastern Michigan and Fabienne Haremza of Florida Gulf Coast each posted an even par 72 and are tied for the individual lead after the first round.
The tournament continues Monday, before Tuesday’s third and final round.
