University of Delaware Women’s Golf Team Finishes in 12th Place at UC Irvine Anteater Invitational

DOVE CANYON, Calif. -- The University of Delaware women’s golf team posted a team score of 319 on Tuesday to move up one spot and finish in 12th place at the Anteater Invitational hosted by UC Irvine.
The Blue Hens recorded a three-round score of 962 to place 12th out of 15 teams at the tournament. Washington State captured the team title with a 904 score, while BYU finished second at 910. Idaho placed third at 913, UC Irvine was fourth at 915, and Long Beach State and UC Riverside tied for fifth at 921.
Delaware freshman Amanda Terzian was the top finisher for the Blue Hens, as she shot an 11 over par 82 during her final round on the par 71, 5,911-yard course at Dove Canyon Golf Club. Terzian finished tied for 24th in the individual standings with a three-round score of 78-73-82-233, 20 over par.
Fellow freshman Annie Bowlsby (at right) had the best round of the day by a UD player, as she carded a six over par 77 during her final round. Bowlsby finished the tournament in a tie for 52nd place with a 29 over par score of 82-83-77-242. Classmate Andrea Slane fired an 11 over par 82 during Tuesday’s round, finishing in a tie for 59th place at 83-80-82-245, 32 over par.
Junior Frida Nilsson was the second Blue Hen to shoot in the 70s on Tuesday, as she posted a seven over par 78 in the final round. Nilsson finished the invitational in 63rd place after carding a 33 over par 87-81-78-246. Freshman Baralee Theinthong shot an 11 over par 82 during her final round, placing 70th with a 38 over par score of 90-79-82-251.
Mallory Kent of Washington State earned medalist honors with a seven over par 71-75-74-220, while Amelia Ek of UC Riverside finished one shot back.
The Blue Hens are off until Apr. 20-22, when they will compete in the Colonial Athletic Association Championships at St. James Plantation Golf Course in Southport, N.C.
