University of Delaware Women’s Golf Team in 13th Place Following First Day of Hoosier Fall Invitational

FLORENCE, Ind. -- The University of Delaware women’s golf team fired team rounds of 325 and 316 on Saturday at the Hoosier Fall Invitational, ending the first day of the tournament in 13th place in the team standings with a 641 score.
Host Indiana leads the 13-team field with a 580 score through two rounds, while Wisconsin sits in second place at 592. Minnesota ended the day in third place with a 596 score, while Missouri is fourth at 600 and Illinois rounds out the top five at 613.
Blue Hen sophomores Andrea Slane (at right) and Amanda Terzian each opened with an eight over par 80 on the par 72, 6,119-yard course at Belterra Resort before closing with a six over par 78, as both players are tied for 40th place in the individual standings with identical 14 over par scores of 80-78-158.
Freshman Nathalie Filler had the lowest first round by a Blue Hen as she carded a five over par 77, but followed with an 11 over par 83 as she ended the day tied for 46th place at 77-83-160, 16 over par. Senior Frida Nilsson opened with a 12 over par 84 but improved six strokes to fire a six over par 78 during her second round, concluding Saturday’s play tied for 56th place with an 18 over par 84-78-162.
UD freshman Vimonthip Benjasupawan carded a 19 over par 81-82-163 to finish the day tied for 60th place, while sophomore Baralee Theinthong is tied for 72nd place after firing a 24 over par 85-83-168 on Saturday.
Lindsay Danielson of Wisconsin leads the field with a four under par 72-68-140, while Carmen Laguna of Minnesota is two shots back after carding a two under par 69-73-142.
The Hoosier Fall Classic concludes on Sunday with a singe round beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
