Blue Hen Women’s Golfers Finish in 13th Place at Hoosier Fall Invitational

FLORENCE, Ind. -- The University of Delaware women’s golf squad posted a 338 team score on Sunday to finish with a three-round total of 979 as the Blue Hens finished in 13th place at the Hoosier Fall Classic hosted by Indiana University this weekend.
Wisconsin finished in first place out of 13 squads at the invitational with a three-round score of 894, while Indiana placed second two strokes behind at 896. Minnesota came in third in 904, Missouri finished fourth at 910, and Boston College rounded out the top five at 922.
Blue Hen sophomore Andrea Slane fired a nine over par 81 on Sunday on the par 72, 6,119-yard course at Belterra Resort, finishing in 44th place in the individual standings with a 23 over par score of 80-78-81-239. Freshman Nathalie Filler (at right), playing as in individual, tied with Slane for the lowest round of the day by a UD player, as she also carded an 81 to tie for 46th place at 77-83-81-241, 25 over par.
Sophomore Amanda Terzian fired an 88 during her final round to finish tied for 57th place with a 30 over par 80-78-88-246, while freshman Vimonthip Banjasupawan recorded an 86 as she finished in a tie for 67th place at 81-82-86-249, 33 over par.
Blue Hen sophomore Baralee Theinthong carded an 83 on Sunday to finish in 69th place with a 35 over par score of 85-83-83-251, while senior Frida Nilsson shot a 91 during her final round and ended up in 72nd place with a 37 over par 84-78-91-253.
Lindsay Danielson of Wisconsin took home medalist honors with a three under par score of 72-68-73-213, while Carmen Laguna of Minnesota finished in second place four shots back.
The Blue Hens wrap up their 2012 fall schedule on October 21-23 when they compete in the Florida International/Pat Bradley Invitational in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
