The Blue Hens are coming off a successful inaugural season during 2011-12, when the squad posted seven top-10 finishes on the year under head coach Patty Post.
Sophomore Sarah Skurla (at right), who posted a team-best 79.38 stroke average and was the Blue Hens’ top finisher during three of the five fall tournaments last year, returns after missing the spring season with an injury. Classmate Andrea Slane also returns after a solid freshman campaign in which she was named the UD Alumni Association Team MVP, was the Blue Hens’ low scorer in four invitationals, and ranked second on the team with a 79.59 average round.
Fellow sophomore Amanda Terzian posted the best score by a Blue Hen in three tournaments a year ago, when she ranked fourth on the squad by averaging 81.69 shots per round. Classmate Annie Bowlsby was one of three Delaware players to compete in all 11 tournaments in 2011-12, when she was third on the Blue Hens with an 80.93 average round. The team’s lone senior, Frida Nilsson, also returns after averaging 81.71 shots per round.
