Blue Hen Women's Golfers in 13th Place Following First Day of Michigan Wolverine Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Delaware women’s golf team battled cool and rainy conditions Saturday during the first day of the Michigan Wolverine Invitational, ending the day in 13th place with a 672 two-round team score.
The Blue Hens opened the day with a 330 score and followed with a 342 to finish the day in 13th place out of 14 squads at the tournament. The host Wolverines lead the team standings with a two-round score of 616, while Florida International is just one shot behind.
Delaware freshman Nathalie Filler is tied for 40th place in the individual standings after she carded a 23 over par 82-83-165 for the day on the par 71, 6,112-yard University of Michigan Golf Course.
Classmate Vimonthip Benjasupawan ended the day in a tie for 54th place following her 26 over par day of 82-86-168. Sophomore Amanda Terzian (at right) had the best opening round by a Blue Hen as she carded a 79 early on, but followed with a 93 to conclude Saturday tied for 66th place with a 30 over par 79-93-172.
UD sophomore Baralee Theinthong, playing as an individual, also tied for 66th place after carding an 89-83-172, 30 over par. Senior Frida Nilsson posted an 87-88-175, ending the day at 33 over par to tie for 76th place. Sophomore Annie Bowlsby carded a 34 over par 91-85-176, finishing the day in 79th place.
Meghan MacLaren of Florida International leads the field after she carded a six over par 74-74-148 during her day.
The Wolverine Invitational concludes Sunday with a single round beginning at 8:30 a.m.
