Cross Country - Second-year member of the Blue Hens who has earned one letter. 2010 Season: Competed in five events as a freshman • finished 159th in 25:53.6 at the Penn State Invitational and 37th in 21:08.9 at the Delaware Invitational • placed 59th in 21:40.30 at the Blue & Gold Invitational • placed 148th in 25.53 in the Paul Short Invitational open race and 23rd in 21.27.2 in the ECAC Championships open race.
Indoor Track & Field - Second-year member of the team. 2010-11 Season: Member of the 4x800 meter relay team that finished 18th at the ECAC Championships with a school-record time of 9:15.01 • 4x800 meter relay team also won its event in the Thomson Invitational and Lafayette/Rider Invitational • ran the 500 meters in 1:22.53 at the Thomson Invitational and the 800 meters in 2:20.00 at the Maryland Invitational • finished the 1,000 meters in 3:16.73 at the Lafayette/Rider Invitational and the mile in 5:38.39 at the Princeton Invitational.
Outdoor Track & Field - Second-year member of the Blue Hens. 2011 Season: Member of the distance medley relay team that finished ninth at the Penn Relays in a school-record time of 12:00.06 • member of the 4x800 meter relay team that placed 13th at the Penn Relays in 9:08.49 • 4x800 meter relay team also finished ninth at the ECAC Championships • member of 4x1,500 meter relay team that finished in 19:41.37 at the Raleigh Relays • ran the 800 meters in 2:15.10 at the CAA Championships and the 1,500 meters in 4:52.52 at the Delaware Open, both the second best times by a Blue Hen on the season.
High School: Competed in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track & field at state power Padua Academy in Wilmington, Del. • member of four state team championship squads, including two in outdoor track & field, one in indoor track & field, and one in cross country • earned All-Catholic Conference honors and All-New Castle County laurels in track & field • ran for head coach Marnie Giunta, a former Blue Hen standout • served as a student ambassador • earned first honors all four years • earned school's Scholar-Athlete Award.
Personal: Emily Anne Gispert ("giz-pert") • born Sept. 16, 1991 • daughter of Ignacio and Mary Gispert • biological sciences major at Delaware • would like to go into dentistry • worked as a nanny during the summer • uncle, Raymond Lloyd, played minor league baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies • father is a dentist and a 1979 Delaware graduate • one of five children, including sister Angela who attends Delaware.
