Cross Country - Second-year member of the Blue Hens who has earned one letter. 2011 Season: Competed in all but one meet during her freshman year • finished 27th at the UMES Lid-Lifter Invitational in 20:00 and 81st at the Fordham Invitational in 20:18 • placed 17th in 24:14 at the Delaware Invitational and 328th in 24:09 at the Paul Short Invitational • came in 14th in 24:58 at the Blue & Gold Invitational and 35th in 24:0 at the CAA Championships • placed 137th at the NCAA Regionals in 25:07.
Indoor Track & Field - Second-year member of the Blue Hens who has earned one letter. 2011-12 Season: Won the 1,000 meters at the Thomson Invitational • ran the 800 meters in 2:21.96 at the Lafayette/Rider Invitational and the 1,000 meters in 3:06.22 at the Princeton Invitational • finished the mile in 5:29.88 at the Delaware Invitational.
Outdoor Track & Field - Second-year member of the Blue Hens who has earned one letter. 2012 Season: Won the 800 meters at the Delaware Open • member of the 4x800 meter relay team that finished 10th at the Penn Relays in 9:09.44 • ran the 800 meters in a season-best 2.20.31 at the CAA Championships • completed the 1,500 meters in 5:01.65 at the Navy Invitational.
High School: Member of the cross country, indoor track, outdoor track and basketball teams at the Charter School of Wilmington • earned first team All-State in 2009 and second team All-State in 2010 in cross country • helped cross country team win the 2009 and 2010 state championships, and the track & field team to the 2009 state title • served as team captain of the cross country and track & field teams • member of National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society • honor roll student.
Personal: Meredith Rose Steenkamer ("steen-ka-mur") • daughter of Paul and Sharon Steenkamer • has a younger brother, Will • cousin, Katrina Steenkamer, is also on the UD cross country team • both parents are Delaware graduates • five uncles also attended Delaware including Mike Steenkamer, who competed for the Blue Hen men’s cross country team • chemical engineering major at Delaware.
