NEWARK, Del. - After concluding her first season at the helm of the program, University of Delaware women’s lacrosse coach Kateri Linville has announced the team’s fall exhibition schedule, which will feature two home contests.
“My philosophy is simple: to be the best you have to play the best. We will play a tough fall ball schedule in order to prepare for a tough spring schedule. Competing for 60 minutes and executing in pressure situations is our mission,” said Linville, a 2003 Delaware graduate. “We are excited to start fall ball competitions tomorrow against our conference rival, Drexel.”
Delaware will host Drexel University on Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and national powerhouse Notre Dame on Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. Linville, a 2003 Delaware alumna, worked as an assistant coach at Notre Dame prior to her return to UD. Both games will be played at the turf practice fields, located behind Delaware Field House.
The Hens will partake in their first of two tournaments on Oct. 7 when they make the trip to Baltimore. With a 6 p.m. opening draw, Delaware will face UMBC on the campus of Loyola University (Md.) before facing the host Greyhounds at 7 p.m. Action will take place at the Ridley Athletic Complex.
After the Notre Dame exhibition, Delaware will head to College Park, Md. to face perennial national title contender Maryland for a single game. The contest, slated for 5 p.m. will be held at Maryland’s Lacrosse and Field Hockey Complex.
Delaware rounds out the fall slate with its second tournament, making the short trip to Philadelphia on Oct. 29. The Hens open the Penn Tournament with Big East opponent Louisville at 11:20 a.m. and conclude the day with the host Quakers at 1 p.m. All action for the Penn Tournament will be played at Franklin Field.Back To Women's Lacrosse Home Women's Lacrosse Story Archive
