Wall Places Third in 800 Meters, University of Delaware Relay Teams Lead Way at Raleigh Relays Track & Field Meet

RALEIGH, N.C. -- University of Delaware senior Corey Wall posted the top individual finish for the Blue Hens with a third place showing in the 800 meters and the women’s 4 x 200 meter relay squad posted a team-best fifth place finish to highlight UD performances at the second and final day of the Raleigh Relays Saturday at North Carolina State.

Wall completed the 800 meters in a time of 1:52.14 to place third overall and then teamed with Joe Grieco, Mike Tait, and James Townsend to place ninth in the 4 x 800 meter relay in a clocking of 7:47.80.

Also for the UD men, the 4 x 100 meter relay team of Tyreece Clayton, Vinny Fronczkowski, Tim Kutchen, and Ross Shober was 13th in 43.22, Ryan Braunagel finished 13th in the hammer (170-11), Andy Weaver was 15th in the 1,500 meters (3:57.95), the 4 x 200 meter relay squad of Clayton, Steve Forgo, Fronczkowski, and Kutchen was 15th (1:31.34), Dan Feeney posted a 16th place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase (9:39.27), and Townsend was 19th in the 1,500 meters (3:59.62).

On the women’s side, the 4 x 200 meter relay quartet of Vicky Caruso, Nijah Dupiche, Asia Hollis (at right), and Kristi Cox posted the second best time in school history with a time of 1:39.38 to place fifth. The mark was second to the UD record of 1:36.55. A

Also for the Hen women, the 4 x 800 meter relay team of Emily Gispert, Lindsay Prettyman, Jessica Olsen, and Carly Simmons was seventh in 9:19.41, Jillian Seamon was seventh in the javelin (132-1), and Jen Watunya finished 69th in the 1,500 meters (5:07.13).
