Delaware Athletes Post 18 Top 10 Finishes at University of Pennsylvania Invitational

PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Delaware women’s outdoor track & field squad completed a successful day at the University of Pennsylvania Invitational Saturday afternoon as the Blue Hens posted 18 top 10 finishes in the meet at Franklin Field.
The Blue Hens did not capture an individual title but posted four third place finishes led by Nicole Daly in the 3,000 meters (10:46.26), Jennifer Holly in the pole vault (11-5 3/4), Megan Wiseman (at right) in the long jump (16-5), and the 4 x 100 meter relay team of Gabrielle Coleman, Tyonna Brooks, Kelley Donovan, and Alexandra Muro (49.81).
Placing fourth for Delaware were Courtney Markow in the pole vault (10-11 3/4) and Spencer Nendza in the triple jump (34-5) while fifth place showings were put in by Bethany Fox in the 400 meter hurdles (1:07.58) and Jessica McDonald in the triple jump (34-1 1/2).
Fox also placed eighth in the 100 meter hurdles (15.81) while Nendza was eighth in the long jump (15-9) and McDonald was ninth in the long jump (14-8).
Also for the Hens, Alexis Gligor was sixth in the pole vault with a leap of 10-6.
Delaware will continue action next Saturday when the Blue Hens host the annual Delaware Open at 11 a.m. at the Delaware Mini-Stadium.
