NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women’s soccer team will travel to Harrisonburg, Va. to battle the James Madison University Dukes on Thursday, October 18 at 5 p.m. in a Colonial Athletic Association match at JMU’s University Park.
Delaware (9-6, 6-2 CAA) enters Thursday’s match James Madison (6-10, 4-4 CAA) in second place behind Hofstra in the conference standings while the Dukes sit in seventh place with two games to play in the season. UD takes a 5-3 road record into Harrisonburg while JMU boasts a 3-4 record at home.
A victory will put the Blue Hens in CAA Tournament, as the top six teams in the conference that make the post-season. The top seed will host the CAA Championships while the top two seeds receive a bye in the first round of the tournament. If Delaware wins both of their final two games that will put the Hens solid position for a top-two seed and a bye in the first round.

UD has scored 15 goals this season with eight different players tallying a goal this season. Senior Ali Miller leads the team with six goals while senior Anna Lenczyk ranks second on the team with three goals. The goal-keeping duo of Jessica Figueroa and Jess Levy have registered back-to-back shutouts on UD’s recent two-game winning streak. Figueroa has a 0.67 GAA while Levy owns a 0.97 GAA this season.
Led by 23-year head coach David Lombardo, the Dukes have 19 letter winners and 10 starters return from a club that went 8-8-3 last season. Preseason All-CAA selection and former CAA Player of the Week, Lauren Wilson, leads the team with eight goals and 18 points on the season. Kelly Germain leads JMU with four assists on the team and ranks second with 10 points. Katie Hyland also has the second-most goals with three to go with three assists this year.
