Seven Home Meets Highlight 2012-13 Delaware Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Schedules

NEWARK, Del. -- Seven home meets and trips to the Bucknell Invitational and to the University of Texas highlight the 2012-13 University of Delaware men’s and women’s swimming and diving schedule announced Monday by head coach John Hayman.
The Blue Hen men posted a 5-4 dual record and placed fifth at the Colonial Athletic Association championships a year ago while the UD women went 6-4 in dual action was eighth overall at the championships.
Hayman will begin his 24th season at the helm of both squads when the seasons gets underway Sept. 29 with the annual Blue-Gold Intrasquad Scrimmage at the Rawstrom Pool inside the Carpenter Sports Building.
The regular season will begin on Oct. 6 when the Blue Hens host Georgetown at 1 p.m. followed by a Oct. 13 visit to CAA foe George Mason Oct. 13 at 1 p.m.
The Blue Hens will then return home for three straight meets at Rawstrom Pool as Delaware takes on CAA foe Old Dominion Oct. 27 at 12 noon, hosts a two-day CAA Pod Meet with UNCW and William & Mary on Nov. 3-4, and hosts Rider and La Salle on Nov. 10 at 1 p.m.
A three-day trip to Lewisburg, Pa. for the Bucknell Invitational will take place on Nov. 16-18 followed by the USS Short Course Nationals to be held Nov. 29 through Dec. 1 at the University of Texas in Austin. The final road dual meet of the season will take the Hens to Philadelphia on Jan. 12 as Drexel hosts Delaware and Northeastern in one-day CAA tri-meet.
Delaware will close out the regular season with home meets on consecutive days in mid-January set for Jan. 18 vs. Army at 4 p.m. and vs. Towson on Jan. 19 at 1 p.m.
The Colonial Athletic Association Championships will once again be held at McKay Natatorium on the campus of George Mason University on Feb. 27 through March 2. The UNCW men and the James Madison women are the defending CAA champions.
