Heim and Milla Pair up For Doubles, Advance to SJU Invitational Doubles Flight 2 Semifinals

PHILADELPHIA -- One of the University of Delaware’s fresh new double combinations this season, Olivia Heim and Kimberly Milla, paired up and reached the semifinals of the Saint Joseph’s University Invitational in the Doubles Flight 2 Bracket.
Heim and Milla enjoyed the No. 1 seed in the Doubles Flight 2 Bracket, getting a first-round bye. The Blue Hen pair met up with Tara Walsh and Laura Matz of Saint Joseph’s, cruising into the semifinals with an 8-1 victory.
The Delaware pair faces Aysenil Orhon and Mel Reyes from Drexel University in the semifinals for a chance at the Doubles Flight 2 title.
Senior Samantha Carnall and freshman Christina Harrington dropped their first match, but rebounded in the first round of the Doubles Flight 1 Consolation bracket with an 8-0 sweep of Katherine Charchalls and Austin Denesuk from Lafayette.
Delaware resumes action on Saturday for the all-day event. Tomorrow’s action, which will kick off at 12:30 p.m., will feature both singles and doubles action.
