University of Delaware Women’s Tennis Receives Highest Ranking in Program History

NEWARK, Del. – With a record of 4-0 to start the spring season, the University of Delaware women’s tennis team has recently been ranked 62nd in the nation, the highest in program history.
Following a 4-3-comeback victory over Saint Joseph’s University, the Blue Hens received a score of 6.95 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division I Team Rankings.
Delaware is off to their best start since the 2010 season, when they opened with four straight victories and won seven of their first eight matches. The Hens kicked off the 2009 campaign with nine straight wins.
North Carolina finished first in the rankings followed by Duke, UCLA, Florida and Alabama.
The Delaware women next take on Navy March 6 at 2 p.m. in Annapolis, Md.
